Here are some of my most common FAQ but please reach out and get in touch, happy to answer all your questions and queries to help you plan!
A wedding planner will support you to book all the elements of your special day for example venue, caterings, transport and flowers to name a few. As a celebrant my role is focused on the ceremony itself, leading the vows, exchange of rings and including the symbolic elements that bind you together.
A registrar is legally enacted by your local authority to perform marriages. They will meet you on the day of your wedding at your venue, and follow a prepared script with set wording, which is legally binding. They will also register the wedding for you, you must get married in venues that hold a marriage license issued by the local authority.
Using a celebrant provides greater freedoms to conduct the wedding in a location of your choice, as venues do not require a license to host Celebrant ceremonies.
Currently no, but there is a simple "work around" to do it all right. Find your perfect venue, book your perfect date and secure your favourite celebrant!
THEN;
Simply book a statutory marriage at your local Registry Office. They are often performed at the main office for your County at certain days and times of the week. It’s a straight forward paperwork exercise which involves you two, and two witnesses. It will be performed in the office and not in a ceremony room and usually only involves some legal wording and the signing of the Register.
You don’t need to exchange rings, or make your promises to one another – save these for your celebrant wedding ceremony with all your family and friends.
As with all Civil Marriages, you will still be required to give notice of marriage at least 1 month before your legal marriage (which costs around £56 per person – check with your local authority)
A statutory marriage is often booked to take place the week before you are having your Celebrant led Wedding, but there are no rules as to when this should be, and it could be performed at a later date if you prefer.

I can recommend some terrific venues that I have had the pleasure of conducting ceremonies in. I can confirm that I am independent of all venues and do not receive commission for recommending venues. I have the freedom to work in many venues!
